The most famous band of the 20th Century was the Beatles. This English band was basically a rock band and was formed in the English city of Liverpool. The members were John Lennon on the vocals and rhythm guitar, Paul McCartney on the vocals as well as the bass guitar, George Harrison on the vocal again and the lead guitar and Ringo Starr on the drums as well as the vocals again.

Now they had a varying genre which started from psychedelic pop to folk rock. They incorporated the elements of classical music in very futuristic and innovative ways. For three years the band performed in local pubs in Liverpool starting from 1960. Now before the four there were two other additions to the band which was Stuart Sutcliffe who was on bass guitar and Pete Best on the drums and at that time Ringo Starr was not there in the band. But after Sutcliffe and Best left the band Starr replaced them.

In 1962 the Beatles had started to gain a lot of popularity in the UK due to the release of their very first single which was called Love Me Do. In the next year, it also managed to gain popularity internationally as well. The band had toured a lot till 1966 and after this they had gone back to recording in the studio.

But then the band had broken up in 1970. All the individual members had managed to then find success in their own musical career paths. But then Lennon was shot and hence died in 1980 and Harrison had passed away due to cancer in the year 2001. Although, the Beatles weren’t in the music business for a very long time. They have produced some of the most brilliant hits of the century. They produced the hit album called Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in 1967 which is considered by many as a masterpiece.

Now even though the Beatles had broken up the sounds of their music were continued to be heard by people all over the world and are still as popular as they first were even now. Now when it comes to awards, this group has managed to win an astounding number of 13 Grammy awards and 3 Brit awards. Now the total amount of nominations that were received by the band are 25! One of the most in music history ever!
