The Beatles: The Most Famous Band of the 20th Century
The most famous band of the 20th Century was the Beatles. This English band was basically a rock band and was formed in the English city of Liverpool. The members were John Lennon on the vocals and rhythm guitar, Paul McCartney on the vocals as well as the bass guitar, George Harrison on the vocal again and the lead guitar and Ringo Starr on the drums as well as the vocals again.
Now they had a varying genre which started from psychedelic pop to folk rock. They incorporated the elements of classical music in very futuristic and innovative ways. For three years the band performed in local pubs in Liverpool starting from 1960. Now before the four there were two other additions to the band which was Stuart Sutcliffe who was on bass guitar and Pete Best on the drums and at that time Ringo Starr was not there in the band. But after Sutcliffe and Best left the band Starr replaced them.
In 1962 the Beatles had started to gain a lot of popularity in the UK due to the release of their very first single which was called Love Me Do. In the next year, it also managed to gain popularity internationally as well. The band had toured a lot till 1966 and after this they had gone back to recording in the studio.
